Custom Data List

Hello team,

I am very new to Alfresco. I have installed Alfresco Community v3.4.0 on Windows platform and and it's working well.

I need to create some custom lists. I saw some posts, but I am not 100% clear. Are there any step by step instructions on how to go about it? I saw mention of Eclipse on YouTube, but not sure where to find it and which Eclipse tool I need to use.

How we understood alfresco data base structure(Internal storage part).
And I have one requirement …
When i upload a xlxs file into particular space that xlxs data need to store in alfresco repository.
if you have any idea please guide me in that

When i am try with your example it shows parent class properties also like
Locale,Last Accessed Date,Modified Date ….

If you have any idea can you please share "how to hide the parent properties in our custom list"

The "share-config-custom.xml" file controls what is displayed or not. Make sure you have set this file up correctly and that it is stored in "\tomcat\shared\classes\alfresco\web-extension\" Restart the server.

I have seen before that adding some of the extensions offered on share-extras blocks this file but I doubt that this is your problem. If you are still battling post your  files here on the forum and lets have a look at them

Hello, I tried to create Custom Data List. I followed steps from efvrvo, i completely copied his files to properly folders. Then I restarted TOMCAT server. In logs there are no errors. But when i go to site and try to create datalist (new custom list is not there). Can somebody help me? I am using alfresco 4.2.0.

It works for me on Enterprise 4.1.1.3.

Try to remove reference to previous example model mtgDatalistModel.xml in CustomDatalist-model-context.xml if you do not have it installed.

Hi Guys i have been following this thread and i am a newbie in Alfresco 4.0.d. I have created custom datalist models, context model and also configured the share config xml file and everything is working well. How ever the datalist is not showing when i log in alfresco. What should i do then.Do i have to place the share config file in to the share.war and if does it no going to delete my other customization. the server is a production server.
