Creating Custom Fields in Workflows

Hello,

I am working to create workflows in Alfresco that have custom fields which can display instructions to the user based on which step of the workflow the user is on. I have created custom bpmn20.xml and added to the share-workflow-form-config.xml files. Are there any other files I need to modify and is there any related guides that would help with those other files.

I have searched the forum and not found an example I could replicate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently Running Alfresco enterprise 4.1.5
