Creating Content Types and forms

Hi,

I need to develope new content´s type and forms for them. Moreover these contents must be import/export from/to XML files.

Another System, uses the contents and shows them to the final user.

I don´t know nothing about Alfresco API so, How much time I need to do that?
Where I Should start?
