create spaces on deploy

Hi everybody,

we would like to install Alfresco pre-configured, meaning that we change the configuration of Alfresco before installing it. Specifically, we configure the CIFS service to offer a share for a space that does not exist in Alfresco during standard setup. Hence, during first startup (when the setup/bootstrap happens) the CIFS service will fail, because it cannot find the space it should expose as a share. Then we create the space manually and have to restart Alfresco in order for the CIFS service to start up properly.

Is there a way to tell Alfresco to create spaces other than the default during bootstrap?

Regards,
Tim

You can add your own "bootstrap" to initialise your own data.      You will find there are already a few examples where alfresco itself initialises data.   For example bootstraping the content models and the workflows.

Another approach is to run a piece of java code on start up of alfresco.
