I wonder about the same thing.
There has been the question raised by our customer whether it is possible to search documents by their user-defined attributes. If my understanding is correct then Aspects might be the answer. It would be great if the Aspects could be added "at runtime".
(I'm very new to Alfresco and DMS-stuff in general.)
