Hi,

I have been testing alfresco for a few days (Labs 3, WCM and surf) and I'm wondering if its possible to create a and manage a website (preferably multiple websites) like http://www.hardware.no using alfresco? I haven't really found any good documentation on how to create websites and how to display content on them (sort content by categories, search content etc). Are there any tutorials or articles that might be helpful?

Thanks.

Yes, you can create and manage any type of site using Alfresco .   One thing you need to realize is that currently we allow you to manage content and code, but we don't actually allow you to build the site using alfresco.  We are on the backend managing content, and you still have to write your site.   This means that we are not always the best fit for people who are looking for a site builder.  We are working on one but it's not out yet.

What we do allow is to manage and deploy your content in a rigorous and controlled manner (with approval workflows), either to the file system or to another alresco runtime instance, then your site takes over and interacts with the content either by reading the file system or through querying the Alfresco runtime through web scripts, or both.

There are some webinars that should help you understand Alfresco WCM conceptually.
