Content properties

Hi,

When I upload some content to a space, is it possible to add some additional properties to the content? What I am asking is while uploading a pdf it is possible to change the properties of that pdf like its name encoding format etc. If I have to add an additional property say enquiry number, is it possible in any way? Kindly reply.
