Content is not allowed in prolog

I am playing around with the WCM Preview release and have run into this error when trying to add content of a custom type:

I don't have any template methods. Is there something wrong with my XSD?
A system error happened during the operation: Content is not allowed in prolog.

i tested out your schema and it is entirely valid and works well. my guess is that you're using a rich text editor of some sort that is including some extra characters. i suggest opening the file in a plain text editor such as notepad or vi and making sure the file is just plain xml.
