I exported from SVN release 99541.
According to the release notes, this is Alfresco 5.0.d.
Command:
$ svn export -r99541 https://svn.alfresco.com/repos/alfresco-open-mirror/alfresco/HEAD

Then I navigate to the exported folder, and I run:
$ mvn install

I get the following error:

Running org.alfresco.AllUnitTestsSuite
Tests run: 417, Failures: 1, Errors: 0, Skipped: 0, Time elapsed: 49.418 sec <<< FAILURE! - in org.alfresco.AllUnitTestsSuite

        at org.junit.Assert.assertEquals(Assert.java:542)
        at org.alfresco.repo.calendar.CalendarHelpersTest.simpleTimeZoneNorthern(CalendarHelpersTest.java:2101)

As a work around, I just commented line 2101, and the installation completes.

Some context:

$ cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.6 (Santiago)

$ file /etc/localtime
timezone data, version 2, 5 gmt time flags, 5 std time flags, no leap seconds, 235 transition times, 5 abbreviation chars

$ file /usr/share/zoneinfo/US/Central
timezone data, version 2, 5 gmt time flags, 5 std time flags, no leap seconds, 235 transition times, 5 abbreviation chars

I tried both java7 and java8.
I used apache-maven-3.2.1.

Its a known and fixed bug in the test.
