Compatability with Language Packs in 1.1 and 1.2?

I downloaded the Brazilian language pack for 1.1 (V1.1_PT_BR.zip). Will Alfresco 1.2 work with the language pack 1.1?  Or should I wait for someone to develop a 1.2 version Brazilian language pack to use it on my 1.2 system?

They will "work" but all the strings that were added in between 1.1 and 1.2 will appear with $ symbols either side of the message-id.
