CMIS based query for relationships

Is there a way to query relationships(associations) using one single CMIS based query? If yes, how?

Relationships cannot be queried using the CMIS query language.

Reading apache chemistry in action EAP, chapter on querying (summary section) indicates relationships can be queried in future chapters TBD. Will there be support for querying relationships?

What do you recommend best practice when needing to retrieve all documents part of paent child relationship? Query parent first and then how can we join on children?

We just moved to Alfresco 4.1.1 Enterprise and are building a content mgmt API using opencmis 0.7 libraries.

Join support is limited to aspects in Alfresco. I am not sure when we will support joins on relationships and other types.
