Clustering, Repository Sharing between different CE versions

Hi!

I have a very special question, which is important for me,  and perhaps an Engineer or an user can give an answer and/or a hint for implementing it.

Which is a good and reliable way, or the best way, for sharing one and the same Content store between Alfresco CE 3.4 Server on the one hand and Alfresco Community Edition 4.0 Server on the other hand?

Thanks in advance!

You can't do it, there are big differences between 3.4 and 4.0.

You can upgrade a content store from 3.4 to 4.0 but you can't cluster two different versions together.   In particular the database schema and cache invalidation is different,  there are also a host of other incompatibilities.

OK.

I wanted to do that because I need a feature of search Hit Hightlighing which seems to be unpossible in Alfesco 4.0 because of SOLR, and because the RM Module is not available in 4.0.
Therefore I thought I can combine the two Alfresco Versions.
Sometimes ago I have upgraded to 4.0 and then I have seen that RM is not coming soon…

Are you saying you have hit highlighting working with 3.4.   You can still use lucene on 4.0 if you need to.
