I followed this article in order try to get CIFS working under Windows 2008.  When doing nbtstat -n  the server name (with the A), GABACKUPA, is showing up. When I try to access this folder \\GABACKUPA\ALFRESCO  i get prompted for a username/password. Not matter what username/password it will not let me in. I did the registry change as suggested. When I watch the video that talks about configuring CIFS it seems they are editing a different file vti-properties file but I can't make out what they entering in that file. Any help will be appreciated.

Actually made progress; it is now working where I can browse the Alfresco share from another server, but when I try the same thing from a desktop (Vista or Windows 7); I am getting an error saying there are duplicate names on the network. Question though why does it work from any other server (Windows 2003), but not from a desktop. How can I troubleshoot this error?
