Hello,
I've put in place a CIFS share w/ Alfresco 4.2.c on Windows Server 2k12.
Today, I'm trying to understand the way versioning is supposed to work using this way.
I've created a word document and tryed to modified it using two different accounts, openning it via the CIFS mounted drive.
But things got messy : I first couldn't open the document at all from neither of the account : Office proposed me to open a copy and integrate modification laters, but it only opened a read-only version of the file.
I managed to restart the server, and could open it in read and write from one of the account. But it was impossible to open it in write on the other one, even after closing it on the 1st account.
I'have been looking for answers over the web, but none seems to explain how versionning or concurrency control works on CIFS.
If anyone culd give me a hand on this…
Thanks in advance,
