CIFS server on Vista

I initially installed Alfresco 3.2r2 on a Win2003 32 bit box and mapped a network drive on the same box to the \\hostA\alfresco CIFS directory.  I used the default user "admin" with my initial setup password for the login.  The CIFS mapping required no custom configuration and worked right after default install!

I've had to move development from the Win2003 box to a Vista Home Premium SP2 64 bit box.  Using Alfresco 3.2r2 I can't get anything CIFS related to work.  On the same machine, I couldn't map a drive to the CIFS server from a peer machine or locally (Error: network path not found).  I then added an entry "127.0.0.1 hostA" to the Win hosts file, and now I can find the CIFS server on the local machine.  However, I cannot get past the authentication dialog.  I've checked my authentication subsystem and I'm only using NTLM.  I've added a user account to Alfresco with username and password that exactly matches my Windows login.  I've also tried enabling SSO but no luck there.  I've also disabled file and printer sharing on the local machine.  If I check the ARP cache via "nbtstat -n" I do not see the "hostA" entry. 

I've spent several days on this and I'm starting to feel silly since it seems CIFS works for others.  Anyone have any ideas?

Same problem here!

CIFS works with Windows XP, 2003 but not with Vista or Windows 7!

I think you need a "Vista Business Edition" to have such functionalities.
