CIFS MS Office file locking

Hello,

I have locking problems with MS Office file using CIFS in alfresco 4. A lot of MS Office files seems to be randomly locked by "any user" when I try to open them from CIFS mount point on a windows workstation. So the file opens read only and user can't edit it. This problem seems to affect only MS Office files.

To solve this issue, I tried to upgrade from 4.0.d to 4.2.b, but the problem seems worst : more files are affected  :?

Is there is a know issue with CIFS and MS Office documents ? Is there is a way to completly desactivate locking function ?

Thank you for your fast answer. Do you know the jira ticket corresponding to this issue ?

And what do you propose as workaround ? This problem is a big issue for us, because we have a lot of MS Office document (I know that is an issue too  :lol: ), so it become unusable and we are thinking to stop using alfresco.
Is there a way to desactivate file locking ? We prefer to have some update collison than not be able to update !
