CIFS Client Pop-up

Is there a way to set a rule so that when an item is dragged and dropped into the CIFS view (via Windows Explorer) to have a dialog box show up that allows for fine-tuning the parameters? I would need to then submit the form/dialog box and have the changes applied to the content item.

I'm thinking the only way to do this is to create desktop action, require the user to drop the item on the action which will pop up a browser window and take them to the Alfresco web interface showing the details. From there they would adjust the parameters of the document and submit it.

Am I missing something? Is there an easier way to do it? I don't want to require the user to have to drop the file on the desktop action and then pop an internet browser. Can I pop up a simple dialog box (like the Windows Message box) but include some drop-downs and a submit button.

Thanks!

So I'm guessing this is a no? Or did I just post in the wrong forum?

Hey.

You'd have to use Desktop Actions, like you suggested, and have a browser pop-up.  The user would have to drop the file on the action for each file.

At least, that's what I've done on my setup for a similar set of requirements.  Couldn't find any other way to do it.
