I have just set up LDAP and CIFS, is it possible for me to create the CIFS mapped drive and log in using my domain information? since I have now set up LDAP?….if yes is there any addition changes I should be making as it only allows me to connect to the CIFS with my Alfresco username and password not my domain info.

Thanks

Hi belmekki,

Oh sorry we just setup kerberos to talk to the correct server, and the logs show it can speak to it ok no error messages.

But when i create a mapped drive to my Alfresco Home Folder, the login prompt appears but only accepts the Alfresco login details (if that user has been created in the web console) and doesn't seem to want to get the authentication from the kerberos setup.

Is this a setting needing to be changed? Sorry I am new to Alfresco and thanks for your help.

in alfresco\tomcat\webapps\alfresco\web-inf\classes\alfresco\file-server.xml

I have the following

<config evaluator="string-compare" condition="Filesystem Security">
<KDC>HIDDEN</KDC>
<Realm>HIDDEN</Realm>
<Password>HIDDEN</Password>
<authenticator type="alfresco">
</authenticator>

But in alfresco\tomcat\shared\classes\alfresco\extension\file-server-custom.xml

Its just

<config evaluator="string-compare" condition="Filesystem Security">
<authenticator type="alfresco">
</authenticator>

Should it also contain the KDC, Realm and Password entries?

Thanks Smiley Happy

Hi Belmekki,

Thanks for your help its very much appreciated. Ok I followed your link, and got the main technician here to set it all up.
He said that should be it, I noticed he left out the <Principle> tags….so I added them in but when I did this and restarted the
Alfresco service i couldn't access the web interface.

I also noticed in the logs it said there was an issue with authentication, but that was all setup correctly.

Any ideas?

Hi spoke to one of the guys here, he said it is probably due to needing to enable NTLM…which he is going to think about since its not as good as Kerberos. He is also going to look in to Alfresco 3, since thats out now so we dont start up with this and find out there are features in 3 which would be useful.

While Am here, do you know how to filter out versioning with regards to MS Word temp files. Say i tell a folder to version its content, when editing a word file it will also version its temp file. I noticed that it doesn't just keep the original file, it also creates a full copy of the new modified file. So in time this could fill the server…is there a way to prevent this temp file issue or instruct Alfresco to only keep files that are x amount of days old? to help with space?

Thank you very much for all your help, i really appreciate it!
