Checkout from svn produces Java Heap error

Running STS 2.6.0M1 on Mac OS X 10.6.  Have experienced this issue on 2.5 version of STS also.  Following the Alfresco on Eclipse wiki page instructions I cannot get a successful checkout of the entire project.  I get an OutofMemory Exception for the Java Heap.  I've turn off automatic building, and thought I'd increased my memory by adding the following to STS->Show Package Contents->Contents->MacOS->STS.ini:
-Xms1024M
-Xmx2056M
-XX:+UseParallelGC
-XX:Permsize=1024M
-XX:MaxPermSize=2056M

My java and eclipse are rusty, not sure if those settings are actually helpful or not.

Help, been wrestling with this for days, any help appreciated

Try either the command line client, or SmartSVN or Versions to do the initial checkout.

Thanks,
Mike

I've had similar issues checking out with an SVN client on windows.  I've had better luck checking out the repo using git.

Thanks Mike.  Was able to import projects and get a successful build.  Sorry wasn't able to think outside the box myself!
