Hello,

I’have see that Alfresco store the files on file system.
But my file are very confidential and I have to protect them on the server.

After reading on web and forum, I fink that the best way to protect my documents is to encrypt my file system with a tool like EnCFS.
But this type of tool use certificate and I would like to know if it’s possible to use certificate with Alfresco ?

Is it a good way to protect my data ?

Thanks.

I’am using Alfresco 3.1 on OpenSuse (Linux)

Yes you could try EncFS or you could just restrict access to the files to the account that alfresco runs as.

Whether to use encryption or not depends on whether you have your root level accounts secured.    And if you don't have root level access tied down then I'm afraid you are fighting a loosing battle.

not entirely true, you might want to protect your data even if the server was physical stolen…

Thanks.
I think root level can acces data only if this level can acces to the encritpion key ?
