Cannot see folder contents

When I login to Alfresco and go to sites, I cannot see folders under a particular sub folder. I can see sub folders within the root directory. I've tried changing the permissions to just myself, and turning off inherit permissions but it still persists.

I am using

Alfresco Community v4.0.0
(b 3835) schema 5019
Spring Surf and Spring WebScripts - v1.0.0
(Release Candidate 2 915)

We updated to latest CE version 4.2.c and most of our issues have gone away.

Hi Steeb,

By default everyone has consumer permissions on company home folder and all the folders,sub folders and contents under company home folder are inheriting that permissions.So When you turn off inherit permission on sub folder which under particular folder then it will be visible to only the users which has permissions on that folder.
