Hi All,
I've set up Alfresco Share at my company so that we can hopefully collaborate between our offices on projects (that's what it's for, right..). Anyway, I ran into a couple of issues in the document library with regard to uploading files. I found quite a few posts for the flash problem, which I was having and resolved by just changing the code to use the HTML upload all the time. But there are 2 users here in the office that are running windows Vista (I'm running XP and everything is fine) and they are still unable to upload documents. The 'New Folder' and 'Upload' buttons are simply disabled… It's the same symptom that I had with the flash bug, but now I've completely disabled the flash upload part, and it works in IE8 and FF3 on WinXP, but neither browser seems to work for Vista… Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

The "New Folder" and "Upload" buttons aren't connected to Flash being present or not. Do those users actually have permissions to upload into the document library?

One of them is using Firefox, so I thought that might be part of it… The one using IE8 had been invited to the site, but the link in the invite didn't work for some reason, so he joined and had only been assigned the consumer role or whatever it is by default… I've adjusted his role now, so that should do it, and I'm still awaiting confirmation from the Firefox user that he's all set after I took flash out of the equation…
Thanks for the help, I'm sure this will resolve it, but if not I'll post back later…

Ok, I've confirmed that one of the users did not have the appropriate access to the site. I had invited him to join the site, but the invitations are not working properly so he couldn't accept it, and I guess that the system doesn't do any thinking to associate that user to the invite (which can't seem to be accepted) if they join the site on their own…
That said, using IE8 he now has no issues uploading documents. The other use unfortunately, is using firefox and set up his own site, on which he's the site manager, and he's still unable to upload documents. I've mentioned that he should try disabling some of the addons, or try IE, but he's yet to do them. Does anyone know of any firefox specific issue, or addon issues that could cause problems with the document library??

Adblock Plus is known to cause issues.

That was it. Thanks Mike, I had suspected that, and actually run it myself, but I'd long since disabled it for everything on our domain where Alfresco and Share run…
