We just installed Alf Comm on a virtualized CentOS server. When logged-on to the server I can run Alfresco, and I can ping the server from our network, but When I try to run alfresco from anywhere but on the server itself I am getting a time-out. I am probably just addressing Alfresco in the wrong way. I don't know what URL to use. What should I do to get to the logon from outside the server?
I don't think that the problem is related to alfresco. If Alfresco is running and you can access it from the server, probably you have a firewall that is blocking connections. Check if SELinux is enabled. On CentOS SELinux is enabled by default.
Amd make sure your "hosts" file is correct. I gather from other threads in the forums that there are frequently problems for linux machines to resolve their own machine name to an IP address.
