When I click on "Edit online" for excel/word file Excel/Word application starts but I have message:
"Sorry we can't open http://10.10.10.1:7070/alfresco/swsdp/documentLibrary/Budget Files/budget.xls"
Then appear message that Excle couldn't get access to that file.
As a client I have Win 8.1 and MS Office 2013.

Hi,

Have you tried from the other way round that is from MS Excel. If you go to MS Excel, Open a new spreadsheet and type in http://10.10.10.1:7070/alfresco in the file name section. If it connects to alfresco, then you'll know at least Sharepoint protocol is working.

You can also turn debug on to see what is happening when you click edit online.
log4j.logger.org.alfresco.module.vti=debug

Hey, it seems that Alfresco does not support MS Office files. Maybe you can try aceoffix that is a web component specified in online editing of MS Office files. You can embed it in your system by simple coding.

Hi, I have same problem with Alfresco 5.0.d installed on Centos 6.6, when I try to edit online, MS Word starts but document don't appear. I already have a disk mapping with http://alfrescoserverip:7070/alfresco, can see all my documents but can not save modifications, I receive the following message:

There has been a network of file permission error.  The network connection may be lost. (Z:\…\documentname.docx)

I'll apreciate if somebody tells me which logfile I must check in the server.

As client I'm using MS office 2013 on Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bits

Thanks,

Hi, I used a computer with MS Office 2010 and everything worked OK, I was able to edit MS documents online, in that PC I had to set BasicAuthLevel=2 (check: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2123563).

In the server side these two lines were added to alfresco-global.properties:

vti.server.port=7070
vti.server.external.host=my_server_ip_address

I'm newbie to Alfresco, so I had to reboot the whole server to ensure changes were applied.

I made a second installation on Ubuntu 14.04 and one in a Windows Server 2012 and the result was the same, win7 PC with Office 2010 was able to to edit on line, but PC with Office 2013 wasn't.

Regards,
