Can old Solr Snapshots be safely deleted?

I've recently inherited responsibility of our Alfresco server and the server disk drive is now completely full. The archive-SpacesStore and workspace-SpacesStore (in C:\Windows\System32) take up most of the disk space and are filled with snapshot folders dating back over two years. Can these be safely deleted or do I need these for the Alfresco site to continue working? Also, is there a better way to get rid of them than just deleting them in Windows Explorer?

what exactly do you mean by snapshot folders?
Your alf_data property in alfresco-global.properties file is pointing to those folders then you cannot delete them.
You can still certainly delete content.deleted folder without any issue.

Inside the archive-SpacesStore and workspace-SpacesStore folders, there are many folders called "snapshot.YYYYMMDDhhmmss" (but with the proper time and date info) going back to 2012. I'm wondering if I only need the most recent of these files or if I really need to keep all of them.
