Hi
I have created almost more than 15 document Types, then now I am finding problem in defining it in "share-config-custom.xml"
Can I group it together, so that adding entry in  "share-config-custom.xml"  will be a easy task for me.
How can I group the custom document types which I created
Guidance requested
Thanks
Joseph John

what exactly you want when you say grouping?
Is it just putting all together or logical grouping or?  :?:  :?:  :?:

Hi Mit
I have 15 no of custom document type, which have common  fields(properties) expect one or two.
When I tried to edit "share-config-custom.xml" I realized that I have to do the same configuration 15 times. This made me to think since all this 15 custom document types have some common values, why don't I   group this document types as one and then apply it only once on "share-config-custom.xml". I cannot say whether it has to achieved by putting  all together or logical grouping.
This is my thoughts based on  experimenting. It is not a production requirement, but worth thinking about!
Thanks for the mail

See, If you have some comment set of properties you want to share across the different document types you need to use the Aspect.
Put all those common properties under one aspect and attach that aspect to all the custom content types.
And unless you really need to segregate the documents logically you need not to create new custom content type.

Hi
You can create a document type as parent and other document type as Child document types
You define proprties common for the partent document type
Also another wayis to create aspect and define prooperties for the partent document type

Hi Amarnath
few months back, when i started evualation Alfresco I did not know any thing about doucment types or aspecs
I got Jeff Pots article on Alfresco Custom types and Aspect , I followed it and was able to do it
