Can an AMP remove Alfresco's conflicting library?

My Alfresco-based solution needs a jar with a different version that the version Alfresco ships with.
So I need to remove this jar from the Alfresco webapp before starting my AMP.

Can the AMP remove the jar automatically, at install time?
Or somehow override it?

Did you ever get an answer to this?

The only way I have found to do this is to change the name of the new version to match the old version so it overwrites the old version file. Not pretty, but I'll role with it I guess...
