Bug: Inline editor removes whitespace

I just noticed that the inline editor for mimetype text/plain silently removes all trailing whitespace from a file, including any terminating space and/or linefeed on the last non-empty line. Just opening and saving a file that has trailing whitespace will alter its contents without warning, even if the user has done no editing at all.

Update: I just noticed that inline editing a text/plain file also removes all leading whitespace. This can actually destroy the visible formatting since any indentation on the first line is removed.

Is there some way to disable this behavior?

OK, thanks for pointing me to the right place. I have now created a JIRA issue: http://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ALF-10308. And I am posting this reply only in order to link the JIRA issue to this thread, so that any others who are searching here can find it easily and avoid unnecessary duplication.
