BrowseBean returns one mixed list of containers and contents

Helas, you won't find here the solution.
I would like to show a mixed list of search results. My user don't want to make a distinct list for spaces and contents in the search results. He should get one list of items, sorted by their path, and typed as container or content.
Is there another method available (in browse.jsp) than BrowseBean.nodes or BrowseBean.content?

Do you think I will get trough it using a template, and showing only the custom view for a guest in search mode?
Actually, it's my guest user who is puzzled with the Spaces/Content panels, because he don't know the meaning of this when entering/searching for the first time. He just want a single list of results, as he will find in any search application.
