Hello all,

I just came across BOS on http://www.talend.com/products/bpm and it looks really cool, and with all respect I thought it might be esier than the eclipse designer for activiti, so my question is can I deploy the processes designed using BOS on activiti and use them or I'll get into trouble!

thanks in advance and sorry for being newbe!

If they produce compliant BPMN 2.0, you will be able to run it on Activiti. That's what BPMN 2.0 is all about!

But if you'd ask me, i would give the Activiti Designer a shot. It's pretty good, actually (but I'm biased) 😉

It does generate a bar file and zctiviti accepts it, but am unable to see the process after wards, on the other hand it also can export to BPMN but the import fails!

What activiti designer are you refering to, can you give me link please?

couple of notes, I am not able to add attachment and I did not get notified when you replied to the thread!

Activiti understands bpmn 2.0 xml. Check what is in the bar file.

Activiti Designer: see http://activiti.org/userguide/index.html#activitiDesigner

Yeah, the attachment thingy is a know problem with this forum :s

Hi,

I've already tried it. It isn't possible right now because .bar file generated by BOS is different. See the link for more detail (generated scenario for feature request) http://www.bonitasoft.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=9376

best regards,

Hi,
Attempting to play with Activiti and to import some BPMN 2 files. I've been using BonitaSoft (BOS) and it works fine. I can export BPMN2 files from BOS and Yaoqiang happily ingests them however Activiti will not import either the export from BOS or anything from Yaogiang. All I get is a red warning box with null inside! Not very useful!
As Activity will not import anything at all I suspect I've done something stupid but am at a loss as to what to do next.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Cheers
David

Hi David,

We did quite of bit of testing with Yaoqiang and that was working fine. So can you add more details about the process you are testing with? Can you include the BPMN 2.0 XML?

Thanks,

I recently compared several BPMN-modelling tools and the interoperability is in general not the best.
But I only tried with the .xml or .bpmn files and not with .bar

Maybe my results will help, you can find them here https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B6fecPw2wyR9RWJVdy1aNHZsb2s/edit?usp=sharing

Apologies for delay - don't seem to receive any email alerts….

Attached 2 simple BPMN files - neither acceptable by Activiti. The first from Bonitasoft; the second the first file read in by Yaoqiang and exported. Added .txt etc to get them to upload.
