Hi, I'm a Java developer and I'd like to contribute to Alfresco.  The issues tracker is quite intimidating and the sheer size of the code base makes it difficult to figure out where to begin.  Do any of the developers and/or contributors here have any tips on how to get started?  I already have an Alfresco SVN development environment set up, including Eclipse.

Hi,

There are several ways to contribute to Alfresco, there is a wiki page that has some good starting points, http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/How_to_Contribute, also a blog that talks about several options, http://blogs.alfresco.com/nancy/?m=200712.

The web script developer challenge will continue for one additional month, you can submit your web scripts for a chance to win an iPod Touch, more info here, http://www.alfresco.com/partners/programme/webscripts. Also, Labs 3 is component-based and we would love to get some components for the new release.

If you have an idea for a specific contribution, please feel free to PM.

Thanks for your interest in contributing.

Nancy
