Batch metadata editing and batch downloading for images?

Hi all,

I'm currently evaluating Alfresco to be used (among other things) as an asset management solution for images.

Now I was wondering whether there was a way to support (a) batch tagging / metadata editing of images and (b) batch downloading (e.g. downloading all images which are the result of a search) since I can't seem to be able to find these features in the Community Edition 3.2 which I'm currently evaluating.

I've also been looking around the forums but haven't been able to find any real information on these aspects so any pointers, comments or advice are much appreciated.

Thanks,
Christoph

We don't have anything like this right now in Share, although (a) would be possible to add without too much development effort, by adapting the details pop-up to handle multiple selections (you'd have to disable the name field in that case). (b) would be a little trickier - we're currently developing something similar for our DoD certification.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

thanks a lot for the reply and the information.

Okay, I guess I'll take a look at this then.

(b) would be a little trickier - we're currently developing something similar for our DoD certification
Mmm, so does that mean we can expect this feature to become available in the community version in the forseeable future?

Thanks,
Christoph
