I've searched the documentation, but can't find anything on restoring documenting. I know you can backup/restore everything, but how would someone restore individual documents from a backup?

I think the simple answer is that you don't back up and restore individual documents.

How do you envisage ever loosing a single document that would require an individual restore?

I work with attorneys. You would be surprised what they are capable of!!!!
Are there third-party tools for backup/restore or do must rely on built-in features? Has disaster recovery been addressed in this product?
Thanks.

You are free to implement whatever backup suits.  (And you can set up permissions such that the attorneys can't muck up the data in the first place!)

actually I also  need to restore a single document, without restore the complete alfresco ..
This in case a single user want a document restored when other users keep modifing other documents.. So I have the needing to restore 1 or more documents and keep the rest unrestored. .

That's probably a use-case covered by versioning rather than back up. If a user wants to restore an earlier version of a file, then they can.

Yeah that's smart , I will try to teach end users, but you know often end users are not so smart and often they pretend a single document restore after a data lost.
