Hello I am testing Alfresco 3.4d 32 bit on a 32 bit laptop 2.3 ghtz AMD/ with 3 Gigs of ram.  I am using Firefox for the admin login panel; and installed a couple of different browsers, (Midori and OperaSmiley Wink to test the added users. Everything seems to work fine except I cannot figure out how to make the user Avatar Pics show up in the people search. Thus, when I check from the Firefox admin panel, all I see is a small green circle/dot signifying that the added user is online, (and a grey preset pic with a circle and line through it signifying that the image is blocked for some reason.) I admit, I am probably not uploading the picture correctly. And I am quite certain that this issue is a user error of mine from the admin panel or from the user panel. I am not a Java Code expert and would rather handle this minor issue without having to read through the the entire code. (-and I promise to mark this as SOLVED once my new best friends here help me figure out how to fix my self inflicted wound lol.)
Thanks again.
Fraternally,
Nate.

I suspect that you may have a problem with your transformation service. Underlying that is ImageMagick. Perhaps you don't have ImageMagick installed correctly? Are you able to add images to Alfresco and see that thumbnails get generated for those images? If not, that's probably the reason why profile image thumbs aren't showing up.

Ah. ok. Thanks. And- yeah I can see the thumbnails pics in each account, but those thumbnail pics don't show up when I use the “users search” button from the admin panel. Also I haven't added the users to any groups yet-if that matters. I'm just double checking to see if I missed any steps before I start getting fancy. lol.
- Oh and how do I check to see if ImageMagick is installed? I may have missed that checkmark option during the initial install?  *and since Alfresco is so easy to install in Linux; I don't mind fully reinstalling it and going to get a snack while its installer does its job. (It took like maybe 15 minutes at the most.)
- Thanks for the quick response by the way.

- Oh yeah ok. I just on a hunch did a quick “sudo apt-get install imagemagick” command in the terminal in Linux Mint 15, and it took less than a minute. THEN without even having to restart the server I went to the Alfresco Admin panel and again went to the user search button and then searched for my added users  and “voilà,”all the thumbnail pics were there.
= ..OK. A simple newbie mistake. SOOO to those encountering the same issue, just install imagemagick from your repository if you are using Linux and it should snap together like a good lego block should hahah.
Awesome!
thanks again Jeff (and team,) and have a wonderful day.
Cheers.
