Hi,

In Records management the disposition is happening via manual completion of cut-off,tranfer,destroy…

Is that any way to make that as automatic task?

Thanks

What is the business case you have in mind?

In this case, first I want cutoff until 5 years from date filed. And then I want to destroy until 2 months from cutoff date.
So I want destroy run automatically without confirmation by system.

Thanks in advanced.

Hi Petejoy

I understand what you are trying to do, however it was a conscious design decision on our part not to have automated destruction. The current view of most records management professionals is that best practice dictates that any records up for destruction should be sanctioned by their owners or an administrator. The system should not be able to destroy records on its own account in an unattended way.

Destroying records automatically also brings in additional complications for physical records, of course, where the record must be physically destroy - shredded for example.

Having said that I think that this will need to be rethought as more and more information ends up in RM systems, specially if the RM system is recording automatically generated information from an RSS feed for example.

At the moment you will have to customize the system to achieve what you want.
