Auto versioning not working?

Hello,

I've created a rule in a space which versions all in-bound documents on this spaces and sub-spaces.

If I create a new document in word and save it to a space via CIFS the file does not have versioning applied.  However if I re-apply the rule to all spaces and children spaces, the rule is applied.

I am running Alfresco Labs 3C.  Has anyone come across this in the past?

After more testing:

I’ve created a rule to auto version all inbound documents.  However it doesn’t always work:

1 – Create a new document in Word
2 – Save directly to the CIFS/Shared drive and folder
3 – No versioning happens

However if I follow this process:
1 – Create a new document in Word
2 – Save to my desktop
3 – Drag and drop file into CIFS/Shared folder
4 – Versioning occurs.

Am I doing something wrong here?  Should I be using the Office integration for newly created files?
