Greetings,

I'm new to Alfresco, but I'll indicate now my willingness to contribute in whatever way I can to the success of this project.

I've installed Alfresco twice, once at 1.0.0 and again now at 1.1.0.  Both times I've found that as soon as I install the product (using alfresco-tomcat-1.1.0.tar.gz under Gentoo Linux) and attempt to login that it kicks me right back.  So if you can imagine, its get login screen, enter credentials, hit okay and it kicks me back to the login screen (no error).  The second time I enter in the admin password it takes.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Unfortunately, the same thing happened in 1.0.0 when I was operating within a space.  I will let you know if the same issue surfaces again.

I've been able to reproduce another problem that I've seen before.  Platform is listed in the parent.

I create a document in Company Home > Users > Test called "alfresco.html" and I dropped some content into it.  I then pop into the space again and I can now see the document "alfresco.html" in the Content Items section.

I click on the words "alfresco.html" and I'm immediately taken to:

/alfresco/faces/jsp/login.jsp

I can view the details, but from within the Details view, I can not do the following items without it taking me to a login screen:

* View In Browser
* Download Content
* External Access URL

Any thoughts?  I'd really hate something like this to put a damper on moving to this technology.

I've not heard of this issue on Tomcat - we have a known issue with v1.1 on JBossPortal that is similar but is also very specific to that version.

Are you leaving the web-browser for some time before clicking? I'm wondering if your web-session is timing out? I think the default is 30 minutes unless you've changed it for your tomcat instance. You say there are no errors displayed on screen, are there any errors in the log file?

Thanks,

Kevin

I'm performing these operations back to back with no noticable time between them.  I believe I tested this with Firefox and IE, but Firefox is my primary browser.

I'll reproduce the scenario and ensure that there is nothing obvious in the logfiles.

Did you ever get any further reproducing this or checking the logs? We still haven't reproduced this issue with 1.1.2.

Thanks,

Kevin
