Audit trails

I'm looking for some audit & tracking trails functionalities: who has read a specific document, has user X updated this document, which user checked out the document and who approved this document. I could find some other examples as well…

These features are not needed for all documents but there are some confidential documents where audit / tracking trails are needed.

Does Alfresco support this at the moment (we use the 1.1.2 Enterprise version)? And if not, will you implement this in the near future?

Could be something like the versionable aspect so you could turn this on or off when you need it…

No, we don't have that in 1.1.2, but yes, we want to add it into the 1.3 timeframe.  Whether we get it all in that release or over the next couple, we'll see.

Could you catalogue the key actions that need to be logged, or is it really everything (for those documents you want under that microscope)?

What do you want to be able to do with the trail - query against it (e.g. the trail should be in the DB) or scan/find by search (e.g. text file logs)?
