Attachments Data type is not exist

Dear Gurus,

I have a custom workflow and there is a property inside it called "attachments" but and as i know there is no data type in the dictionary called "attachments" and i need that type. So

how can i develop a custom attachments data type ?

"cm:attachments" is an association, not a type.

Is this association support the attachments from the outside alfresco repository ? and i not can you guide me to find a solution of how to achieve that.
