Using standard bpmn 2.0 you can assign a task to both an assignee AND have potential owners (groups or users). Will this mapping be possible using the designer ?
I realize the "activiti:" shortcuts in the declaration is meant for simple use-cases. Can more complet be used in the designer.
I often have cases where a task is assigned to an individual but managers and other users (represented by groups) want the ability to claim it event though it is assigned.
I can easily be made "by hand" but it would be nice if the designer plugin would support it.
Yes we can support this of course. Just create a JIRA issue and we'll look into it. Although I'm not really sure if the Activiti Engine supports your use case of an assignment to an individual and as well a claim by a group of people. Did you already try that?
The engine support it. You can have an assignee, and set it to null again to unclaim it. In that case you would need the group assignments to get back to the right pool.
