Hi all,
I am new with Alfresco. I wonder if anyone can tell me if there's another scanning solution then KOFAX, which is also integrated with Alfresco.
Thanks in advance,
Jenny

What do you mean by integrated?  I mean, we're using ecopy scanners and directing the .pdf to be transferred directly to Alfresco seamlessly.

My best description would be a very large multifunction canon device (printer, scanner, copier, etc) that has software known as ecopy installed.  Just google ecopy if you're really interested.

If Alfresco accepts standard text file uploads for index data, then you can use many application.  While eCopy is an option, it can be quite expensive, and is really bound to Canon Copiers.  There's other players out there… like NSi, that can use any scanner, MFP (Big digital copier) etc. to convert the paper into something usable, and put the index data into an upload file.  Being Alfresco is so Open Source friendly, there shouldn't be any issue getting data into it.

You can use Alfresco's CIFS interface to output any files into an Alfresco space. Custom actions can be configured through wizards to do something when new files are saved.

Just to set the record straight on eCopy; full disclosure I work for the vendor.

eCopy produces a software application called "ShareScan" that drives scanning operations on MFPs and scanning devices. Several years ago the application was only available on Canon equipment; currently the application is available on most major MFP brands and supports ALL ISIS enabled scanners. Most business class scanners are ISIS enabled. eCopy ShareScan scans paper-based information and routes that digitized paper into business processes and/or content management systems.

The product is sold through distribution and is available in several price configurations. Several of these price points were lowered this year. Supported devices can be found here –> http://www.ecopy.com/Support_Supported_Devices.asp

Bonjour

je suis nouvelle in Alfresco et j'aimerai savoir l'outil de capture de données pour numériser les documents dans Alfresco.

Merci bien.

Bonjour

My Ephesoft colleague in France is Jose. He will reply.

But, to put it simply, Alfresco Capture is an excellent capture tool based

on Ephesoft Transact.

Cordialement
