apply_amps.bat !!!

HI,

why in gods name, does apply_amps.bat deletes my Alfresco and share Folder in from the C:\Alfresco\Tomcat\webapps Path ?!?!?!
After it deletes it, i am not able to execute the Url to Alfresco.

What is worng with the apply_amps.bat.
I dindt change it, its like from the installation.

i have community 4.0

Any ideas ?

Hi Hans

The apply amps script is here to include your new amps into an existing war file.
Running the script will backup your previous wars and generate new ones with your amps included.

Since the war modification won't be taken into consideration until they redeploy, the script removes the alfresco and share folders so that when you restart the server, your modifications are taken into account.
That's the expected behavior.

So here is the precess to add amps:
- shutdown the server
- run apply_amps
- start the server

Your alfresco will then be live with the amp taken into account

I guess u recognized that i am quite new to Alfresco.
i did it this way.

i but the amp files the share one to amps_share and the alfresco one to amp
i also buted the amps into the webapps folder where the .war files are (is this maybe wrong)

After i appy_amp was finished i tried to get into Alfresco … it showed me the login and i entered user and pwd but it said it can not access the remote Server (but this message he also brings if u enter you user or pwd wrong).

Message:
Der Remote Server ist eventuell nicht erreichbar oder Ihre Anmeldedaten wurden nicht erkannt.
EN: The Remote Server ist maybe not reachable or the credential are may not right.

For me it looks that Alfresco does not accept my admin´s Password.

At the point where you say "When you restart the Server, your modifications are taken into account".
The point is after i restart the Server, i can not login into Alfresco, after entering user and pwd.

I stop the Alfresco Tomcat from START - Run- services.msc and after apply_amps.bat i start the Alfresco Tomcat Service again from services.msc.

Hi Hans,

My apply_amps is vanilla. If you picked it up from somewhere else you might want to change the path to your correct installation dir but otherwise it's fine.
You don't need the amps in the webapp directory. just in amps and amps_share. Running the script will embed your amps in the existing wars.
If you can't log in, your server probably didn't start properly. Could you please post the logs?
