Hello

i have installed Alfresco and it works but when i start Alfresco there is the message that i can achieve a higher performance with a Apache Portable Runtime.

I downloaded it from http://apr.apache.org but in the zip file was no exe file just a bat file i executed prebuildNW.bat!

Anyways its not working how can i install teh APR?

Thanx

Hi,

The message is from TomCat not Alfresco specifically. I'm not sure what difference it will make, as 95% of the CPU time is spent in Alfresco code/database rather than web-server performance.

I've not personally tried to install it.

Cheers,

Kevin

Yeah but if you work with the data in the database you need to connect to the database and i think the webserver performane is very important.:-)

Please let us know if you think it improves performance, any before-and-after metrics you can post would be great.

Thanks,

Kevin

The Tomcat website has statically compiled dlls for the APR for download.
You can find them here:

http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.5-doc/apr.html

Download the binaries unless you want to compile the source yourself…
Grab all the files, and put them in a location that is on your path.

That's all you have to do.

yeah but what are the binaries in the folder binaries? there are exe files and so on and ipv4 and ipv 6 files? Which exactly?Doi have to execute the exe files and when i got the files in which directory?what do you mean on your path?where is it or what is  the path?

The easiest thing to do would to be to download all the files to one directory.
To get that directory on the path, do a google search for 'windows file path' to learn how to set the path.
You don't need to run anything in those files, Tomcat handles that.

i gave him ………….;C:\binaries the folder he aint lookin inside he looks jut to those before???
