I'm using 3.2.d community edition and always using WebDav for browsing and online edit those office documents especially excel format. I face the problem is when I open the document for let say half an hour and want to say, it always tell me that the documents is using by another one and cannot be save, then I need to save as the documents locally and copy to replace it, do anyone have the same experience and already solve? Thanks.

There has been a lot of changes going into the webdav protocol so I would recommend to upgrade to latest 4.2.x version. It's well worth the effort, not only for webdav but in terms of general performance and experience as well.

Thanks your reply. As I also want to upgrade to the newly version but the upgrade procedure is not easily since the back end database also change. Any comment?

Yes, an upgrade will update the database. But that is all included in the upgrade scripts, so it will be taken care of automatically. Unless you have made changes directly to the database without using Alfresco api:s, something you should never do.

Since you are on 3.4.d you might have to upgrade in several steps, ie 3.4.d -> 4.0.d -> 4.2.a -> 4.2.c.
Your mileage may vary, you will have to try what works best for you.
