Hi all, I have the 3.2 community edition on my system, everytime I run alfresco it slows down the whole system. I found this message in the alfresco.log file "Caused by: java.net.SocketException: No buffer space available (maximum connections reached?): connect"
Not sure how to fix it.
Hope everyones having a fine day wherever you are.
Yes, Alfresco is best used on a server. It would be surpising if it didn't slow things down on a typical desktop. That said it also runs O.K. on my clapped out laptop. And my even older home PC. The first thing to look at is how much memory you have. You should aim to keep Tomcat's java process from being paged out, so if you have only a couple of G memory then consider adding some more.
You may also want to de-tune alfresco for your smaller machine in particular to reduce the number of threads dedicated to JLAN and possibly the stack size for each. And make sure you are using Tomcat 6 rather than 5.
