Alfresco Share custom role !!

Hi Friends,

Can I create my custom role like following :

Role = CustomConsumer ( Having consumer role plus they can add discussion(forum) topic ) in alfresco share. ??
any idea?

I tried like following in permissionDefinition.xml

 <!– ***************The Consumer custom role - ******************************************   –>
      <permissionGroup name="CustomConsumer" allowFullControl="false" expose="true" >
          <includePermissionGroup permissionGroup="Read" type="sys:base" />
        <includePermissionGroup permissionGroup="AddChildren" type="fm:topic"/>
      </permissionGroup>

but gives me errors…

Hello,

We are currently trying out Alfresco Share (community edition 4.0) to see if it fits our companies needs. One of the things that would make Alfresco Share more useful to us would be the ability to customize certain roles.
However we are not sure if customizing will mean facing certain risk as we have read on alfrescowiki >"Custom Permissions in Share" topic that: If you add custom roles after you create sites, those sites will break.

Other post we have seen on the forum, doesn't really address this issue directly.

Hello Power,

What kind of error you are getting ? I think this is the only file which you can play around for custom role creations. Though its not advisable to modify this OOTB file. If there is no other way then only you should do this.
