Hi Sebastian,
I am trying to deploy Liferay 5.2.3 and Alfresco 3.2 and just cant get it to work. I am wondering about several things and maybe you can help us with that :
1) Globally : Did you succeed with the latest versions ? Or vice versa - Which must current version did you get it working with ?
2)
a) Alfresco wants Java 1.6, Liferay bundle comes with 1.5.0:17, might that be the problem ?
b) Using the "Alf29_Liferay5.zip" Files and changing version info to "Liferay DTD 5_2_0", Liferay Version to "5.2.*" gives me a "WAIportlet cannot be cast to javax.portlet.Portlet" Exception. Do you have an Idea about that.
c) Do I need to change the "Alfresco" information from <module-id>alfresco/alfresco/2.1/war</module-id>
when using the "3.x" version ?

Thanks a lot in advance,
Norgan

Hi,

Do you need Liferay and Alfresco deployed in the same JVM? It's easier if they were running in two separate JVMs. Of course whether or not this is acceptable depends on what you're trying to achieve.

HI Guys,

We tried and failed to shove both WAR files in the same Tomcat instance. We would like Alfresco 3.2 to be available as a portlet to Liferay 5.2.3. Is that even possible? Is there an up to date guide somewhere? Thanks!

Hi,
somewhere here in the forum, somebody dug out an explanation, that liferay and alfresco use some different libraries (jquery and my??ß or so), which are not compatible for a real SSO and that therefor the portlet deployment does not work with current versions past 3.0. You can, however, deploy alfresco parallel without making the portlet-changes in faces-config etc. and access the Alfresco Application via Iframe. Maybe, that is enough for you already.

If anybody else has new better info - please share Smiley Happy

I cannot guarantee when, but I'll definitely try it very soon.
