Alfresco Firefox Extension with OpenDocument format files

I was just looking at the alfresco firefox extension and it occured to me that it would be very cool if we could include the ability to view and or edit OpenDocument format (ODF) files directly in the browser.

There is currently a firefox ODF reader extension in development at http://www.alcoholicsunanimous.com/odfreader/ and it  is licensed under a Mozilla license, so it could be integrated.

My thoughts?

The Firefox extension is in the new Alfresco Forge - take it where you'd like to see it go 🙂

I'd be for the idea if it was a better solution than baking the same capability into Alfresco as an add-in.  The other thing I wanted to do sometime was add a search box and make it a full toolbar and a couple of buttons that jump to company/user homes.  I started, but have never gone back to it.

Cheers
Paul.

So many things to do, no time to do them.
