Alfresco document query

Hi,

I have installed an Alfresco Community last month (or 2) and was perhaps overwhelmed.  I am now revisiting Alfresco and would like to get an insight if it would be possible to link related documents together (which I assume possible upon reading –going to shelf– but would like to get confirmation) which would appear in properties.  An example would be linking a "Purchase Order document" of Company X to "Quotation," "Billing,"  "Site plan", etc. for the same company but different jobs.

Another one would be an "Alias" for document to be available in different location/workspace.  The alias would seem to be a different entity (with different ACLs).

Pardon me because these are the very features I see in Logicaldocs which seems to be a great feature.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I don't know a generic solution of your problème. But there are lost of possibility for do what you want.
If you want a windows like solution you can add an addon for add a "Creat link" action.
For exemple i use this addon: https://github.com/skomarica/alfresco-share-create-link

Greetings,

Thanks mathieuga, seems like the one I was looking for.  However, does "Create link" support having a different ACL?  I was looking into having a documents grouped by Client name. Initially, only project managers would have access to it.  However, there would be a need to duplicate documents (or in what I would like to do, create a link/alias…for all to have the latest copy) to another location which some departments would have access like Engineering, Accounting, etc.

As for my other query of linking/grouping together related documents, I think that I can get around it by grouping into folders, subfolders and/or creating a link like the above Smiley Happy.
