Alfresco advanced search in a dashlet?

I wanted to provide users of the document library in Share with the Advanced Search page found in the alfresco explorer.

Does anyone know of any easy ways to do this?

I was thinking about creating a dashlet that when clicked opens the Advanced Search page from alfresco explorer.  I was thinking of grabbing the pages and formatting from alfresco explorer and then displaying them in Share.

what is the possibility of putting this functionality into a dashlet?  or calling this functionality from a dashlet instead of working from the documentLibrary?

Hi,

There's probably a way to do something similar within a dashlet, but a dashlet is a too small area for such thing (form + DataTable).

DocumentLibrary is a more practical place to do that, it allows us to take advantage of the tree and customise search forms for certain spaces.

Hi,

The IP-Tech app. works fine.
Only 2 things: on IE7 the form layout gets mixed up and field evaluation is handled different from field to field. Some fields are case sensitive, others are not which is not very straightforward for end-users.

Anyone any idea how to improve form display on IE7 (aprt from using another browser)

Hi,

Thank you for using our extension and for reporting these issues.

We've got feedback from some users and we're currently fixing issues they reported.

One user asked for making Category fileld not case sensitive, but due to the way categories are implemented, if we wanted to query against category in a non case sensitive way the request will take an unreasonable exec time.

So it should be case sensitive, Auto-complete will resolve the problem but we haven't planned it yet.

Regarding the IE7 layout problem, it will be fixed as soon as possible.
